Time and time again, dentist do often tell us that tooth loss among adults and teenagers is mainly caused by gum disease. Gum disease is the result of bacterial plaque build up that hardens into the teeth and turn into tartar if not removed on the teeth daily and can cause severe damage to the teeth and gums. If plaque already accumulates into the gum line, it can be hard to remove. Overtime, if gum disease is failed to be treated, the gums will eventually pull away from the teeth. On a gradual basis, bone destruction sets in and thus can will cause the teeth to fall out. Periodontal disease treatments are necessary to end gum disease suffering.
