In 1934 a man named James Hoffa joined the Teamsters union and then eventually worked his way up to become the Teamsters president serving for (14) years. He is remembered today by the Teamsters establishing the James Hoffa Scholarship in honor of the late union president who some say was one of the best to have served the Teamsters union because of his strong personality in getting things done quickly. Leaders have a way of doing this because they are single minded in their beliefs about somethings. This also works against them too which may be one of the reasons the beloved Teamster mysteriously disappeared one day. Nevertheless; the James Hoffa Scholarship program helps students cover the high cost of their tuition each year because of James Hoffa. His legacy in helping Teamster union families achieve their educational goals will be his greatest accomplishment ever.
